Wreaths Across America Post #290 5k & 1 Mile
PartnershipOur foundation is excited to be putting on a 5k & 1 Mile event that will help raise funds for Wreaths Across America within Firestone Park. We have been donating to this cause for several years and now we have a specific race to help American Legion Post #290 in Columbiana raise additional funds for their annual project.
The theme for the 2023 Wreaths Across America project is Serve and Succeed. |
Direct DonationsUnable to run or walk either distance but want to donate the cost of a wreath? Use the link provided to make a donation which will then be given to the American Legion. Your donation is tax deductible since you receive nothing in return and because we are a non-profit organization.
Proceeds from donations will go 100% towards the purchase of wreaths for Firestone Cemetery (OH0210). American Legion Post 290 will roll-over excess donation to the next year's needs if that were to arise from the fundraising efforts. |
RegistrationWe highly advise registering online ahead of race day to secure yourself a shirt and commemorative finishers medal. We cannot guarantee any swag being available on race day if you are not pre-registered. We anticipate many community members wanting to participate.
Registration can take place online here. Paper registration forms available here. |
Race Details
The race will start and finish within Firestone Park, Columbiana. A portion of the race will go through Firestone Cemetery where the wreaths are placed each December. We are asking participants and those attending the event as spectators to please take in to consideration the solemn nature of a cemetery and to not be disrespectful in any manner.
|
The race will begin at 9:00am on Sunday, September 24th. Race day registration and packet pick-up will be 7:45am-8:45am. The 5k and 1 Mile will start at the same time. The course will be marked and volunteers will be on location to assist.
Shirt and finisher medal designs will be released upon approval from Wreaths Across America. |
